We Energies adjusts winter heating forecast

We Energies is revising its prediction for heating costs, halfway through the winter heating season.

Spokeswoman Cathy Schulze says November...December...and January had the coldest temperatures to start a winter since 1976, and natural gas use is up about 20 percent.

She says even if there are average temperatures March and April, the total heating bill for the average customer will be around $661. That's nearly 20 percent higher than last year. Schulze says that estimate will rise, if the cold weather continues.
