State gets positive job news in 2013

Figures from the Department of Workforce Development show the number of companies closing or laying off workers was at its lowest point in at least a decade, last year. 

UW-Green Bay associate economics professor Tom Nesslein says the drop is likely due to a slowly improving economy.  He says this year is off to a rough start, with 20 closing or layoff notices coming in so far, compared to 57 all of last year, but Nesslein says it's too soon to worry. 

Nesslein says the numbers would be concerning if they continue for at least six months.
