Recount, lawsuit possible for county board seats

Candidates in two Outagamie County board races have until Friday at 5 p.m. to request a recount of last week's election.

About 130 people in Kaukauna received the wrong ballot, impacting those districts.

County Clerk Lori O'Bright says yesterday's official review found Leroy Van Asten defeated Jason Fischer in District 10, by 47 votes. There was a 97-vote margin in District 13, where Kevin Behnke beat Josh Karl.

O'Bright says if there is a recount, and a candidate still isn't satisfied, the person can file a lawsuit to force a special election.

O'Bright says the Government Accountability Board is giving her special rules for a possible recount.
