DNR holding spring meetings tonight

Hunters and fishermen across the state can ask questions of the DNR, and make their feelings known, during tonight's annual spring hearings.

The meetings are held in every county, and DNR spokesman Ed Culhane says sportsmen and women will be asked to weigh in on a number of proposed rules changes. He says one would expand catch and release seasons, to more species than just  trout.

He says they'll probably get questions about the telephone and online deer registration system, which goes into effect in 2015.

The meetings start a 7 p.m. across the state. The meeting for Outagamie County will be at Riverview middle school, in Kaukauna. The Calumet County meeting will be at the county courthouse, in Chilton.
