Fire damages two Appleton homes

Nobody was hurt this afternoon, when a fire damaged two houses on Appleton's east side.

Appleton fire department Battalion Chief Ron Hockett says firefighters responded to the blaze in the 3600 block of Edgemere Dr. around 2:30 p.m.

When when firefighter arrived, flames were shooting from the attached garage of one of the homes and were spreading to the siding of the neighboring house. Hockett says they quickly doused the flames with water.

Hockett says one house has siding and possibly some smoke damage.

The garage of the other house is destroyed and the inside has significant damage.

Investigators are looking for a cause.
