New Catholic school to open in G.B.

Some private schools in the Fox Cities are shutting down or consolidating at the end of the year, but Green Bay's Catholic school system is expanding.

Bishop David Ricken announced yesterday that they're opening a school that will focus on "classical" curriculum, in the fall of 2015. He says students will study classic literature and math.

Ricken says parents of home-schooled children, and current elementary students, are interested in the school.

He hasn't picked a name yet. It'll be located in the former St. Joseph school, on 12th Street, on Green Bay's westside.

The plans are for a K-8 school, but initially it will offer K-3.
