Sturgeon spawning coming to an end

Time is running out for the sturgeon spawning season, on the Wolf River.

DNR strugeon expert Ryan Koenigs says the fish started spawning by the Shawano dam yesterday and they'll be done by the weekend.

Koenigs says the sturgeon have been spawning for over a week at Bamboo Bend, near Shiocton, and that's pretty unusual.

He says there may still be a few of the fish around by Saturday, but there won't be nearly as many.
