Kaukauna to try election fix

Kaukauna's city council received an update last night on how the city clerk plans to prevent future election day problems.

About 130 voters received the wrong ballot during last month's election, and it led to recounts in two Outagamie County board races. One of them is being challenged in court.

Clerk Sue Duda says in the past, they've kept the poll books for both of the city's wards together because the person who verifies voters also hands out the ballots. She says they're going to start keeping those books on opposite ends of a table.

Duda says while the change is simple, it should be effective.
