Former 'GMA' co-anchor speaks at LU

The main speaker during yesterday's graduation ceremony at Lawrence University was a long-time anchor for "Good Morning America."

Charlie Gibson told the graduates that the most important thing they can do now, is matter. He says whether at work, home, or in their community, it's important to make a positive difference.

Gibson also talked about the polarization of the nation's politics. He says it's shameful, and it's driving people away from the process.

He says today's journalists also need to keep an eye on what's important.

A record 370 students graduated from Lawrence yesterday.
