Basic Needs Partnership giving $2.8 mil

More than 100 non-profits, in the Fox Cities, Green Bay, and Oshkosh are receiving money that was raised through an annual golf outing.

Cathy Mutschler is the director of giving for U.S. Venture. She says the money from the U.S. Venture Open goes to the company's Basic Needs Giving Partnership, to fight the root causes of poverty.

She says the money will help fund literacy programs, mental health programs, and other efforts to keep people from falling into poverty. Mutschler says one of them is a partnership between several mental health groups, that gives people immediate access to emergency help.

This year's U.S. Venture Open will be on August 12th and 13th.
