Combined Locks to hold special bow hunt

Combined Locks will be joining other local communities in allowing hunters to reduce the deer herd.

Administrator Sean Hutchison says they're planning the special bow hunt, in December, and they hope hunters can take 14 does. He says they're applying for a DNR grant to conduct an aerial survey, after the hunt, to see if they need to hold another one next year.

Hutchison says the hunt is only open to people who live in the village, and they'll use a lottery system to hand out permits. He says they'll eventually issue 14 of them, and they'll set up seven hunting zones, within Memorial Park.

The hunt will last from December 1-14.
