Police: Phone app led to meeting, teen assault

Appleton police say a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and punched by a 21-year-old De Pere man, after they met through a phone app.

They say Anthony Miller used the app Whisper to contact the girl, and she agreed to meet him on Saturday afternoon, at Memorial Park. They say Miller started to become aggressive, and he touched the girl inappropriately. He's accused of punching her in the face, when she resisted.

Police are recommending charges of second-degree sexual assault, child abuse, and child enticement.
