DOT has timeline for Hwy. 441 project

Drivers can expect a few overnight lane closures this summer, but traffic issues from the Highway 441 project won't get into full swing until after this year.

The DOT will spend $475 million to rebuild the interchange between Highway 10-441 and Highway 41, and build a second bridge over Little Lake Butte Morts. Highway 10-441 will also be widened to six lanes from Cold Spring Road to Oneida Street.

Project engineer Scott Ebel says for the most part, crews will be doing prep work this summer. Then, he says they'll move on to the new bridge. He says they expect to finish that in 2016.

Most of the actual road work won't start until next year. The entire project should be done in 2019.
