Opposition group reacts to Walmart vote

The latest push by Walmart to build a Supercenter in downtown Green Bay is over, and a leader of an opposition group is hopeful it's the last proposal from the retailer.

The city council voted down Walmart's rezoning request, early this morning, on a 6-5 vote.

Rhonda Sitnikau is a business owner in the Broadway district, and she's an organizer of B Local Green Bay. She says it's been a really long 10 months, and she called the vote "substantial."

Sitnikau says she's cautiously optimistic that the Walmart issue is over, but she believes anything is possible.

Walmart's option to buy the Larsen Green property expires late next month.
