Local advocate reacts to BadgerCare numbers

Governor Walker's administration says more than 60 percent of the people who lost BadgerCare coverage earlier this year, did not buy an insurance policy through the federal exchanges.

About 63,000 people were kicked out of the state program. Trish Sarvela of the Partnership Community Health Center says she doubts the numbers were that high here, because they aggressively sought out people.

About 5,000 people lost BadgerCare coverage in Outagamie, Winnebago and Calumet counties. The people who didn't use the exchanges, could have purchased a policy through a private plan, or an employer.
