Menasha Lock closed 4-6 weeks

The Fox River Navigational System Authority says it will take about a month to repair the Menasha Lock.

That lock closed earlier this month, after a hinge pin on one of the lock doors broke.

Chief operating officer Bob Stark says the Army Corps of Engineers, and other contractors, looked at the problem. He says they believe a redesigned hinge could solve the problem.

Stark says the issue was likely caused by a series of things, over time. He says the rest of the system's locks appear to be fine.
