Paper facility catches fire in Vinland

Firefighters had to use a backhoe to sift through shredded paper to put out a fire at a plant, along Highway 41, between Neenah and Oshkosh.

Town of Vinland assistant fire chief Jack Cowling says they were called to Fox Valley Fibre, around 5:30 a.m. The plant is along a frontage road, just south of Highway GG.

Cowling says they're pulling the building apart, to get to all of the paper, and the facility is a total loss.

Firefighters from several departments are helping crews from Vinland. Cowling says about 50 firefighters were there late this morning.
