Painting studio moving into Conkey's

Several years after the Conkey's bookstore closed in downtown Appleton, the building will be the new home of a painting studio.

Pinot's Palette could open in September.

Mari Kessenich is bringing the national franchise to Appleton. She says they'll offer two or three-hour painting classes. Pinot's caters to couples and group parties, and people don't need to have previous art experience.

Kessenich says they're remodeling the building into a two-room studio. She says they'll also have a bar in the back, so painters can drink wine or beer, while they work.
