City opens Born Learning Trail at Pierce Park

A new trail in Appleton's Pierce Park focuses on helping young kids learn.

The Born Learning Trail opened this morning.

Parks director Dean Gazza says it uses shapes, letters, and simple games to improve language and literacy. He says it also gets them outside, doing something active.

Miller Electric donated the interactive pieces of the trail. Officials gathered at Pierce Park this morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Boys and Girls Club was the first official group to use it. Gazza says they hope families, and child care providers will also use the trail.
