Police holding child safety meeting
A number of recent suspicious encounters between strangers and children is prompting police in Neenah, Menasha, and the town of Menasha to hold a meeting tonight on child safety.
Town of Menasha police officer Jason Weber says most of the cases turned out to be misunderstandings, but in one of them, a convicted sex offender made inappropriate comments, and actions toward high school students. He says it's been years since someone abducted a child in Fox Cities, but they wanted to do something to prevent that from happening.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. tonight, at the town of Menasha municipal building. Weber says they'll have separate presentations for adults and children.
