UW-Fox working on 'flexible option' classes
UW-Fox Valley is getting ready to give adults the opportunity to
test out of general courses, and earn college credits.
The school and the other two-year campuses are going to participate in the state's new flexible option degree program.
Dean Martin Rudd says they're targeting students who can prove that they've acquired specific knowledge through on-the-job training, and life experiences.
He says they're going to offer a variety of courses, starting in the fall of next year, including biology, math, engineering, English, and Spanish.
The UW-System wants the two-year colleges to be able to provide general classes for adults, so they can advance to degree programs at the various four-year campuses.
UW Milwaukee will start offering four degrees, through the flexible option, in the fall of next year. The other campuses could join in, in the fall of 2014.
