Judge temporarily blocks night deer hunting
Wisconsin's Chippewa tribes can't hunt deer at night, for at least two weeks.
The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission authorized tribal hunters to kill deer at night, starting last Monday.
DNR attorney Quinn Williams says U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb ruled yesterday that the DNR can enforce its night hunting ban on tribal members, until she hears arguments on the case, on December 12.
