Salvation Army hopes to raise $250K today
Salvation Army Fox Cities officials are hoping for a big day at the red kettles today.
It's the annual Thrivent Financial for Lutherans match day, and the company will match all donations at the kettles, up to $125,000. If they reach that goal, Thrivent will hit the $2 million mark for contributions over the past nine years.
Peter Gianoupolus organizes the match day for Thrivent. He says the annual event has become so successful, that the Salvation Army is using it as a national model.
Gianoupolus says the Thrivent match day in the Fox Cities led the nation in single day donations to the Salvation Army for the past four years.
