AAA speaking out against E-15 gas
A national organization is coming out strongly against an Environmental Protection Agency decision to approve E-15 gasoline.
AAA Wisconsin spokeswoman Pam Moen says only about 5 percent of the vehicles on the road can use the blend of gas without damaging their vehicle.
Moen says using improper fuel nullifies the warranty, so the cost of repairs would fall on the driver. She says there are very few places in Wisconsin where you can buy E-15, and AAA would like to keep it that way until more safeguards are in place.
Moen says AAA wants to suspend the sale of E-15 until consumers are better educated, and more effective pump labels are created.
