December starting warmest since 2001
December will start off very much like last winter ended, with temperatures well above normal.
National Weather Service meteorologist Roy Eckberg says the high is in the low 50's for Sunday, and could hit the 60 degree mark on Monday. He says the last time we hit the 60's in December, in Appleton, was 2001.
Eckberg says we could be back in the 30's for highs by the middle of next week, but the deep freeze won't be coming for a while.
Eckburg the state is already behind normal snow cover for this time of year.
