Property tax rate holds steady in Little Chute
People in Little Chute shouldn't have too much sticker shock when they open their property tax bill this year.
The village board passed next year's budget last night, and village administrator Chuck Kell says the tax rate is holding steady at $6.87 per $1,000 of assessed value. He says water utility rates are staying the same too.
Village President Mike Vanden Berg says it wasn't easy to keep the same tax rate as last year, because the village's property values dropped by about four percent. He says that should only be a temporary setback.
Kell says departments were able to reduce costs by finding efficiencies, and they aren't cutting any village services.
