Pregnant women vulnerable to flu

State health officials are concerned about pregnant women, as the flu season intensifies in Wisconsin.

State epidemiologist Tom Haupt says the flu has sent more than 30 people to the hospital already this year, and four of them were pregnant women who didn't get a flu shot. Through all of last season, nine women were hospitalized.

Haupt says it's especially important to get a flu shot this year, because we could be in for a pretty severe flu season. He  says the vaccine is safe for pregnant women.
