Appleton Paper Co. applauds tariff decision
Appleton paper company officials are applauding a move by the federal government, to penalize a German company for violating trade agreements.
Appleton spokesman Bill Van Den Brandt says the government is imposing a 75 percent tariff on Koehler company paper, because it was selling products in the U.S. for less than they can be made. He hopes the decision becomes final in the coming months.
Van Den Brandt says this isn't the first time that Koehler violated the law, the government already imposes a four percent tariff on its paper.
