Homeless population rising in Wis., Fox Valley

The number of homeless people across the country is down slightly, but a federal report shows that Wisconsin is seeing mixed numbers.

The study by the federal Housing and Urban Development department shows that Wisconsin's homeless population is up slightly, but the number of homeless veterans, and the chronically homeless are down, slightly.  Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley director Jerome Martin says he's seeing a slight increase in the homeless population here, and it's taxing their resources.

Martin says there are about 300 homeless people in the Fox Cities every night, and a lot of people don't realize that.  He says bringing attention to the problem is a first step in fighting it.
