Gov. Walker concerned about Medicaid costs
Governor Walker says he still has a number of concerns about the expansion of Medicaid, as he continues putting his next
two-year budget together.
Walker says he already knows the state will have to pick up at least ten percent of the cost of the expansion, after three years, and he worries that the figure will rise if the nation goes over the fiscal cliff. The governor says the Medicaid issue is part of a larger problem with uncertainty about the health care reform law.
Walker says that's part of the reason he decided to defer to the federal government in developing a Wisconsin health care exchange.
He says he hasn't decided yet, whether to add the Medicaid expansion in his next two-year budget...which will be unveiled in February.
