Activist says Wis. should change drinking culture

Wisconsin once again has the dubious distinction of ranking number one in the nation for binge drinking.

The director of Community Action for Healthy Living, Wendy Vander Zanden, says it starts with our ingrained culture of drinking.

Vander Zanden says almost everything we do socially in Wisconsin, involves alcohol, even events which would seem to call for sobriety.  She points to a fundraiser for two area girls who were hit by a drunk driver, and the prize was a wagon full of booze.

Vander Zanden says we need to change our ideas about acceptable alcohol consumption, because excess can lead to serious health and relationship programs.
