Conn. tragedy hit close to home for local woman
A local woman has close ties to the community where a gunman opened fire in an elementary school Friday morning, killing 20 children and six adults.
Mary Love, of our sister station 95.9 KISS-FM grew up in Newtown, Conn. She says its a very small, and close-knit town, and the effects of the tragedy will linger for a long time. Love says she heard from a friend, who said some of the kids affected by the shooting come trick-or-treating at her house.
Love says she thinks it will take many people in the community a while to wrap their heads around the incident.
