State job numbers up in November
The job market was much better in the state last month.
Preliminary numbers from the state department of workforce development show Wisconsin companies added 10,300 private sector jobs in November. That's the state's best month since January, when the state gained nearly 14,000 jobs.
The unemployment rate also fell by 0.2 percent last month, to 6.7 percent.
With an additional 300 public sector positions, the November total increases to 10,600.
The department of revenue issued its own report on jobs, and it predicts the state will add about 3,000 per month, in 2013. The additional 36,000 would bring the total number of new positions, under Governor Walker, to about 74,000 in three years.
Personal income is expected to rise by 3.7 percent next year.
