Towing companies ready for big day
There are some cars in the ditches along Highways 41 and 441 today, but yesterday wasn't too busy for many tow truck drivers.
There was a towing ban in place in Outagamie County, so snowplow drivers could keep the roads as clear as possible. Pat Femal of Femal's Towing in Appleton says they tried to keep busy, but many drivers took the advice of police and highway officials, and stayed home.
Jerry Van Hoof of Van Hoof's Towing in Kaukauna says today will be very busy, because people who went into the ditches off of Highways 41 and 441 will want to get their vehicles out as quickly as possible. He says that's usually the way it goes after a major snowstorm.
Local municipalities may also be calling tow truck drivers, to remove cars parked on the street, because snow emergency rules are still in place.
