Appleton crews put out basement fire
Firefighters made quick work of a basement fire at a duplex on Appleton's northside yesterday morning.
Crews were called to the 1100 block of N. Superior Street, around 7:30 p.m., when a water heater caught fire. Everyone got out safely.
Five people live in the duplex, and the American Red Cross is helping them.
Officials don't have a damage estimate available yet.
