Olde Oneida St. bridge delay to run to April

The Olde Oneida Street bridge project in the Appleton flats will continue into the spring.

The city rebuilt the bridge deck earlier this year, and engineers later raised concerns about the steel substructure.

City public works director Paula Vandehey says construction crews will start those repairs, next month, and they expect to reopen the bridge on April 1.

The bridge initially closed in April of this year, and it was supposed to open last month.

Vandehey says they'll probably have to close it again for a couple of days late in the late spring, or early summer, to do some final touch-up work.
