Farm Bill top priority in 2013 for bureau
The biggest issue for farmers in the new year, will be the future of the U.S. Farm Bill.
That's according to Karen Gefvert of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.
She says it's set to expire at the end of this year, and if that happens, it would be "really detrimental" to dairy farmers and consumers. Gefvert says the farm bill is taking a back seat to the "fiscal cliff" negotiations, but she's hopeful lawmakers will ultimately extend it.
The group will also focus on the next two-year state budget, and transportation issues.
