G.B., Appleton metros add jobs in Nov.
November was a good month for new jobs in the Green Bay and Appleton metro areas.
The state saw an increase of 10,600 jobs in the private and public sectors last month, and about 20 percent of those gains were in northeast Wisconsin.
Preliminary numbers from the department of workforce development show the Green Bay metro had an increase of 1,400 jobs in November. That's the second-most among the 12 metros in the state, behind only the Milwaukee area's 5,200.
The Appleton metro added 900 jobs to rank third, but the Oshkosh-Neenah metro lost 100.
The unemployment rates went up in all of the metros. Green Bay's rate is 5.8 percent, Appleton's is 5.4 percent, and Oshkosh-Neenah's is 5.6 percent. Those numbers are not seasonally adjusted.
