AAA now backs mandatory ignition interlocks
New Year's Eve is the deadliest day of the year on roads across the country, and one group is trying to tackle one of the reasons.
AAA Wisconsin spokeswoman Gail Weinholzer says they're now coming out in support of mandatory ignition interlock devices, for anyone who is convicted of driving drunk. She says results from states that have ignition interlock laws show that the devices work.
Weinholzer says New Year's Eve is also the deadliest day of the year, because of the number of people who drive long distances, and the chance for bad weather.
