Watchdog hopes for reform in 2013
Some Republican leaders in the Legislature are talking about reforming the state's recall process, and the leader of a government watchdog group hopes they go even farther.
Jay Heck of Common Cause says if they decide to limit recalls to cases of wrongdoing in office, they should also make some changes to the partisan redistricting process. He says other states redraw political boundaries in a nonpartisan way, and it works better.
Heck also would like them to force special interest groups to reveal their list of contributors. He says special interest money is playing a larger role than ever in Wisconsin politics.
