Snowmobilers taking advantage of snow
Snowmobilers are hitting the trails while they can this winter, after the sleds stayed in the garage for most of last winter.
Jim Kumbier of the Winnebago County Snowmobile Alliance says they had to keep nearly all of the county's trails closed last winter, because of the lack of snow. But he says they're all open now, thanks to the two snowstorms over the past couple of weeks. He says they're in very good condition, and getting a lot of use.
Kumbier says people need to be careful on the ice. He says there is some open water and a lot of thin ice on local lakes and rivers.
