Harrison village referendum on Feb. 19

The referendum on the proposed village of Harrison will be next month, during the spring primary election.

Town of Harrison Administrator Travis Parish says people who live inside the possible borders will vote on February 19. There are almost 4,900 eligible voters in that area.

Parish says Fond du Lac County Judge Gary Sharpe set the date, and he's happy they don't have to schedule a special election, at the expense of taxpayers.

Parish says the incorporation committee will meet this week to talk about ways to get the word out about the proposal.

The referendum is the last step in the incorporation process. A state panel approved the concept last month.
