Study looks at impact of tax cuts
A report urges lawmakers to consider the full impact that slowly implemented tax cuts can have on state finances.
Researcher Tamarine Cornelius of the Wisconsin Budget Project says the nine new or expanded cuts that take effect this year will cost the state about $262 million in lost revenue. She says lawmakers are reducing spending to offset most of those losses.
Cornelius says that's especially the case, since Republicans are talking about reducing state income taxes.
An advocacy group, the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families, launched the Wisconsin Budget Project.
