High winds affecting ice
High winds this week are leading to very dangerous ice conditions on Green Bay.
A satellite image from the National Weather Service shows most of the ice on the southern end of the bay was pushed into Lake Michigan on Monday and Tuesday.
DNR conservation warden Darren Kuhn says the ice is considerably worse than it was just last weekend.
Don Herman of the Otter Street Fishing Club in Oshkosh says the wind hasn't had much of an impact on Lake Winnebago. He says that's because the lake is completely frozen over, with about seven inches of ice. But he says the warm weather and the possibility of rain later in the week, could make the ice significantly worse.
The long-range forecast calls for highs in the mid-20s, and lows in the teens, next week. Herman says that would help improve the conditions.
