Study finds lower life expectancies in U.S.
A study shows Americans don't live as long as people in other developed countries, and an advocate for the elderly says that's actually understandable.
Jim Flaherty of AARP Wisconsin says other countries provide health care to everyone, and that makes a difference. He says people in other countries also tend to be in better shape because they walk more and eat less.
Flaherty says if we want to extend our life spans, it will take a "societal fix."
The study also points to violence as a factor.
