B&G Club program helps at-risk kids

The Boys and Girls Club of the Fox Valley has a specific program to help at-risk youth.

Chief professional officer Greg Lemke-Rochon says they work with local school districts to identify kids for the "Targeted Outreach Initiative." He says they focus on kids who are at risk of acedemic failure, or need support to succeed in life.

Since they started the program, 65 students have gone on to graduate from high school, and moved on to college or a career. Lemke-Rochon says without the initiative, they would probably be struggling right now.

He says last year's "Youth of the Year" at the Club was once in the program.

AT&T provided a grant to the club yesterday to help fund the mentoring effort.
