Winnebago Co. leads in abuse arrest rates

When authorities in Winnebago County dealt with a domestic violence issue in 2011, they made an arrest and sought charges, in almost all of them.

A report from the state department of justice says the county had the highest rate in Wisconsin that year, at 99 percent.

District Attorney Christian Gossett says domestic abuse make up about eight to ten percent of their cases. He says the high arrest rate shows how well law enforcement and the district attorney's office work together.
