Group wants to toughen restraining orders
A group that advocates for victims of domestic violence is trying to change the state's standards for issuing restraining orders.
Tony Gibart is a spokesman for the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence. He says they do work the majority of the time, to curb abusive behavior.
Gibart says they want to add stalking to the list of reasons people can get a restraining order, and they believe lawmakers will be receptive to the idea. He says stalking can lead to more serious abuse, and even murder.
