Plea delayed for former Dale town clerk
It will take more time for a former town of Dale clerk to come to a plea deal with prosecutors, after she stole money from the town.
Court records say 68-year-old Marcia Kelly spent $48,000 using a town credit card. She faces 33 charges for theft and misconduct in office, and she was expected to enter into an agreement with prosecutors this morning. Deputy Outagamie County district attorney Melinda Templis says they still have to agree on the amount Kelly will have to repay the town, and there are a lot of documents to comb through.
Templis says the two sides are pretty far apart. The plea hearing is now scheduled for the end of February.
The town of Dale's former treasurer, Erica Siewert, is serving 13 months on probation for similar charges. She's also repaying the town.
