Federal appeals court upholds bargaining law

A federal appeals court says Governor Walker's controversial collective bargaining law is constitutional.

The seventh district court of appeals released its ruling this afternoon.

It overturns the decision of U.S. District Judge William Conley. He determined that unions shouldn't have to hold elections every year, to retain their official status. He also ruled that the law illegally blocked the automatic withdrawal of union dues.

Seven unions filed the lawsuit in 2011.
